How dental grillz are designed

Grillz are a cosmetic overlay, so the design priority is a snug fit on the buccal surfaces without pressing on the gingival margin. The scan is analysed for undercuts, and the internal surface is offset just enough for the piece to slide on and stay put while remaining removable by hand.

The visible surface is then shaped to the requested style — plain polished, textured, open-face, or with settings prepared for stones — with wall thickness kept even so the piece casts or mills cleanly and does not deform in the mouth.

Files are exported ready for casting from a printed pattern or for direct milling in the chosen metal.
